Irish Showbands And Beat Groups
Great site. If you are getting bored with with researching UK releases, there'll be some undiscovered gems here. Many had UK releases!

Dave Berry and The Cruisers
Dave Berry is a constant target for Mr Ennis's (Swinging Blue Jeans) leg pulls and jibes, but I have a strong suspicion that in real life they're the best of friends. Dave has his own great little rock'n'roll band, The Cruisers, and like many of these artists, it's surprising how little Dave has aged over the years. Still singing from behind his hands just like he did in the 60's, Dave appears most regularly around his native Derbyshire, but is also seen on nationwide package tours throughout the year.

Cliff Bennett and The Rebel Rousers Official site
The big man with the big voice, still leading his band and sounding great!

The Bonzo Dog Band
One of the most original and interesting, not to mention humorous British 60's groups. They don't make 'em like this any more!

Mike d'Abo
One of The Manfreds lead singers and writer of, among others, Handbags And Gladrags.

Jackie DeShannon Appreciation Society
Fine singer, and writer of When You Walk In The Room along with many others.

The Dreamers
No Freddie, but a pulsating show which just doesn't let up. The Freddie hits are there too! Great party band.

Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Tich
Recently reformed for special tours and appearances, they rock like no other sixties act we know - then add some five part harmony in to some ballads for good measure. One of the premier sixties acts still touring.

Wayne Fontana
As you may have heard, Wayne currently off the road. Let's hope he makes a full recovery and returns to performing, as his many hits from the sixties, superbly sung - and an hilarious stage patter has them rolling in the aisles!

The Fortunes
Another band who continue to win the plaudits, and rightly so. If you're preference is for melodic pop/rock then you can do no better than see The Fortunes. You've Got Your Troubles, Here It Comes Again and Storm In A Teacup are among their biggest hits. They have a new CD out now, and still appear regularly - you could do a lot worse than take yourself along to one of their gigs and buy the CD either from a concert or their website.

The Dakotas
The Dakotas continue to be one of the top 60s bands still performing, both in their own right and with solo singers. Their excellent stage act combines both their hits with Billy J Kramer, and superb re-workings of sixties songs you might not expect from them.

Mel Harris
Mel wasn't performing in the 60s, but if you want to see all the major 60s acts in one night, Mel is your man! From Gerry and The Pacemakers to The Searchers - Mel sings them all!

Mary Hopkin
Excellent page about Apple Records most successful artist (after a certain group I could mention). Also features links to other Mary Hopkin sites

The Ivy League
The Ivy League are a top quality act, faithfully reproducing the sixties hits as well as some virtuoso musical performances, not to mention the humour!

Jackie Lomax
During the merseybeat boom, one of the most highly respected groups to come out of Liverpool were The Undertakers. Jackie Lomax was their lead singer and went on to make some great albums for Apple (with the help of some Beatles) and Warner Bros.

The Manfreds
With so many original members in the band plus both lead singers from the sixties, this group is at the pinnacle of 60s entertainment.

Marmalade
One of the best reputed 60's bands, Marmalade only have original bass player Graham Knights in their ranks, but still manage to produce excellent renditions of their back catalogue. Recently issued a re-recording of their hits which was note perfect. Hits include a cover of the Beatles' "Ob-La-Di Ob-La_Da", "Lovin Things" and "Reflections Of My Life"

The Merseybeats
Now becoming regular poll winners of The Beat Goes On magazine, The Merseybeats whilst not having many hit singles, manage to more than make up for them with their stage presence, and the quality of their performance.

Peter Noone
Recording as Herman of Hermans Hermits fame Peter notched up many hit singles in the 60's, and like the Dave Clark Five, had even greater success in America than in the U.K. So much so that he has lived there for many years, only returning to these shores recently to headline one of the famous solid silver sixties tours.

Crispian St Peters
Remember You Were On My Mind and The Pied Piper? Well, Crispian now has his own dedicated web site which is well worth a visit.

P J Proby Bjorn Lund's Site
P J Proby Joep Kilken's Site
With his triumphant return to the sixties scene in 2001, PJ's fans have been turning out in droves. These are two of the best Proby sites, although there are other excellent ones which can be reached from these sites.

Soul Journey
Many of this band back Gerry Marsden as his Pacemakers, so you're guaranteed a good time. Also with a message board about Gerry's gigs.

Swinging Blue Jeans
Most famous for their version of Chan Romero's Hippy Hippy Shake, the Blue Jeans still constantly travel the World playing their music. Other notable singles of their's are Good Golly Miss Molly and my personal favourite, a blistering version of Dionne Warwicke's Don't Make Me Over. They are known quite rightly as a great little rock'n'roll band. Ray Ennis, an original member is also founder member of the Elbow Bending Club - an informal social and charitable group of 60's stars most famous for their drinking capabilities!

The Troggs
Andover's finest are a little unusual in that they're not frightened to turn it up and belt it out like they used to - no compromising for the blue rinse brigade here! You'll hear "Wild Thing", "With A Girl Like You", "I Can't Control Myself" and of course "Love Is All Around" among others. Leader Reg Presley, who also made a million from writing the song, has another "claim to fame" - He's been in our shop!
